Faculty in adapted physical education and adapted physical activity take over the collaborative in October.
In this session, a panel of APE researchers from various career stages introduced and discussed issues related to inclusion and PE, with a special emphasis on students who have disabilities while also belonging to other underrepresented groups. Exploring the intersectionality of membership in this diverse array of identities, we hoped to generate dialogue about the subjective experiences of students in PE and whether those experiences are truly inclusive. The panelists approached this discussion through a social justice lens. Throughout the session, we encouraged questions and commentary from members of the collaborative.
