“Wellness Culture,” Body Comparison and Judgement
Stefanie Bonastia, a binge and diet culture recovery coach, joins us at The Kitchen Table to talk about judgement, comparison, body image (on social media) and the long term advantages of doing the deeper work of healing the relationships we have with food and our bodies. Stefanie shares her own experiences battling disordered eating, first through dieting then through engaging in orthorexic behaviors (super clean eating, only) and how she moved through that. We discuss how judging appearances and body sizes could run deep in diet culture conditioning from when we were young, still impacting how we see our bodies and other bodies (and bodies on social media) today. Thanks Stefanie for an incredible episode, and everyone make sure to follow her at @iamstefaniemichele , and get on her body image mini course waitlist!
