I just finished a crazy (and insanely frigid) adventure race with my husband and some buddies that involved chilling us to the bone and navigating to checkpoints with headlamps and a map. So many times in the confusing darkness (and did I mention cold?) we had to pause to step back and assess where we were, and where we were going.
It got me thinking about how important it is to do that in real life, too: to take a step back and assess the shaping of our character and the nature of our calling on this journey through life.
Today’s episode is Part 1 of a 2-part series on “mapping your life” – an activity that provides an opportunity to look at the ways our lives have been shaped, the turning points within our stories, and the places of growth that we might otherwise miss.
It’s tough to navigate from checkpoint to checkpoint without a map, and this activity can help you step out of your story and grasp the redemptive things God is doing in your life.
Join me as I walk you through Part 1 of how to create your “life map.” Get ready (and get your post-it notes ready!) for an illuminating exercise. As you make space for your soul to tell you things you might not be aware of, you’ll begin to understand yourself in a way that frees you up to love others more deeply and move forward with purpose.
