Yolanda has been a Chicana activist since the 70’s and shares her journey as a Chicana leader in Grand Island. Yolanda was born and raised in Grand Island, she shares her journey at Oregon and her return to Grand Island. We get to hear about her community organizing and professional career. Yolanda has received various awards, from Hispanic Woman of the Year in 1990 to the Carrie Howard Sunshine Award with the Nebraska Democratic Party in 2020.
