Close Encounters with Jaws and Joe Alves

We're celebrating the 46th anniversary of JAWS with Production Designer/Art Director/Director Joe Alves. Joe joins me for a mind-blowing deep dive into the making of JAWS and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Joe is a recipient of the Art Directors Lifetime Achievement Award. When you think of the visual elements that stand out in JAWS and Close Encounters we have Joe to thank for all of that. Joe shares with me an oral history of his early involvement in two of the greatest movies ever made. Joe designed the shark in Jaws and scouted Devils Tower for Close Encounters but that's only a fraction of the story. Joe shares his time working with the masters: Alfred Hitchcock, Walt Disney, Rod Serling, and Steven Spielberg. You'll never look at movies the same again after hearing Joe's amazing first-hand behind-the-scenes stories.
