In this episode, IOM3 CEO Colin Church is joined by Julie Hill MBE, author of “The Secret Life of Stuff”. Ever since Blue Planet 2 hit our screens back in 2017, public awareness of materials has started to grow. From immediate concerns about plastic pollution, increasingly people are looking at the wider climate, air, soil, water, and biodiversity impacts of our seemingly insatiable demand for more stuff. These issues are the focus of Julie’s 2011 book, and together she and Colin review how far (or not) the debate has come over the past ten years.
