Welcome back to ArtBeat Radio! You’re listening to episode 15 of Quarantunes, where quarantine can’t stop our creativity! Today we hear musical expression from the artists at CECA. 0:18 "Animal Video" CECA’s Music and Mindfulness Class This is a short instrumental track that was created by the Music and Mindfulness class. The students utilized pre-recorded loops in Garageband to put the song together and chose videos of animals to go along to the styles that change throughout the song. Students made all choices from time signature to tempo to each individual loop track, as well as, chose when the music should shift to a new sound. about halfway through, you will notice the sound of a trumpet imitating an elephant. 2:15 “Proud Mary” CECA’s Music and Mindfulness Class CECA covers the well-known song "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. The students of this class chose which instruments, rhythms, styles, and effects they wanted throughout the creative process. After recording their vocalizations (or an instrumental representation of their vocalizations), clients chose whether or not to place effects on their voices. One client took the opportunity to ad-lib while recording ("And I never lost one minute of sleeping...because I love sleeping"). We hope you will enjoy our take on this popular tune! Thank you to the CECA Creations class for this album artwork! Thanks for listening and tune in next time! For more information about our organization, please visit our website www.ableartswork.org
