As well as being fascinated by crime, Andrew is also intrigued by the horse racing industry. He has a new book out called Chance: Of Grit and Gamblers and the Romance of Racing that features some stories where crime and the punt collide, including one of Australia’s most audacious heists in history – The Great Bookie Robbery of 1976.

Andrew chats with Emily about The Great Bookie Robbery, his lifelong interest in horse racing and the colourful characters, chancers and sometimes shady figures that inhabit this world.
