—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
Three— The value of cryptocurrency is plunging after Tesla stopped car purchases using bitcoin. CEO Elon Musk tweeted his electric car company was hitting the brakes because of environmental concerns. After that, the cryptocurrency market dropped more than 340-billion dollars.
Two— Canada's government is asking a federal judge in Grand Rapids to stall the shutdown of Enbridge Energy's Line 5 oil and natural gas pipeline. In an amicus brief, the Trudeau administration says they have begun negotiations with the Biden administration on the pipeline. Governor Whitmer has ordered it turned off.
And number one— Millions of drivers are bracing for gas shortages to get worse, even though a major pipeline is running again. It'll take days for service to return fully, leaving demand to spike again. North Carolina has been hit the hardest with empty gas stations, followed by Georgia and Virginia.
