Hard work, it's what we know in this world. We're taught that if we work hard, we can earn something for it. We often joke that nothing is free as we have it ingrained into us that nothing is free and we must work for it. But when it comes to the spiritual, and becoming a Christian, does the same idea apply? if we work hard enough do we get salvation?
Charlie has often asked people around the world, and it seems to be universal. To get salvation you must earn it. He's heard them say "well, if I'm pretty good, I'll get to heaven." or "all you really need to do is live by the 10 commandments." For many people, this idea of obtaining salvation requires work, some certain amount of effort, and God, they believe, gives them a reward for that effort.
But is this the case? Can we do something to obtain salvation? if so what must we do?
