AMERICAN CHRISTIAN #64
“Minnesota Nice?”
Do Christians always have to be nice? Being nice, non-offensive, and not “rocking the boat” are ways that Christians have been told act and sound in Mid-America. But this isn’t what Jesus taught or demonstrated in His ministry.
Today we will introduce a concept called Jantelagen, it, “characterizes not conforming, doing things out of the ordinary, or being personally ambitious as unworthy and inappropriate.” What does the Word of God have to say about that?
So, what is the problem with having to be nice? Wasn’t Jesus always nice? We also discuss Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, where He introduces us to the Beatitudes (Mt 5:30, 11-12).
