In episode forty seven we discuss horrific the murder of Elizabeth Short. On January 15, 1947, a woman walking with her young daughter on a residential street in Los Angeles, discovered the body of a woman in the brush next to the sidewalk. After a series of mishaps that caused law enforcement to mishandle the scene, the woman was identified as Elizabeth Short, an aspiring actress who had been missing since January 9. The circumstances of the crime would lead to her being given the nickname "The Black Dahlia," and the case became one of the most famous unsolved crimes in LAPD history. Although the case remains unsolved to this day, a very credible theory has risen to the surface, but it is unclear whether the truth about Elizabeth's demise ever be recognized by the authorities.
