Matthew 8:1–4

In Matthew chapters eight and nine we are shown examples of Jesus’ healing ministry. We have seen Jesus’ authority in his teaching and preaching, now we are introduced to his authority over sickness, disease, nature, demons, and even death itself. Matthew presented Jesus’ words in the Sermon on the Mount, now he shows us Jesus’ works. Jesus’ demands were great, but now we see that his mercy, compassion, and power are equally great.
