Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with University of Hawaii at Manoa alum and Australian Olympian, Kaia Parnaby.
Kaia has had a tremendous career to date as she was named an NFCA All American in 2013 while at the University of Hawaii, while also taking home Big West Conference Pitcher of the Year. She also, set school and Big West records for wins and strikeouts in a season that same year. Kaia has thrived in her time playing pro over in Japan with the SGH Galaxy Stars recording over 500 career strikeouts. Kaia has represented the Aussie Spirit at many international tournaments, including five open World Championships, winning two bronze medals. She was instrumental in helping Australia qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games, pitching in three of the Aussie Spirit’s five games at the Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualifier, where the team went undefeated.
We’re gonna talk to Kaia about getting her start in the game down under, her time at University of Hawaii, participating in the 2000 Opening Ceremonies at the Olympic Games in Sydney, as well as, her participation in this years Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
