Morten Papes tredje bog om Amager ”I Ruiner” handler om Amagerbankens krak oplevet igennem en middelklasse Amagerfamilie.

Da Amagerbanken krakkede mistede mange små aktionærer på Amager deres opsparing. De tabte senere en sag mod staten, der havde kendt til bankens situation.

”Det tændte min indignationsknap.  Jeg var nødt til at skrive om hvordan Amagerbankens krak påvirkede alle på Amager. Det var jo en skelsættende begivenhed” fortalte Morten Pape, da han var gæst i arrangementet Månedens Forfatter på Hovedbiblioteket i København i oktober 2021.
