A lot of what we are told in fitness is FAST results. 15 minute abs. Eat 1000 calories a day! Run 1000 miles and you'll get lean. OR the opposite: Workout for 3 hours a day. NO DAYS OFF. Eat whatever you want as long as you workout harder..... all of this info is confusing and not fitting for MOST people. Generalizing, but by most I mean like 99% of people.
Sure, certain things work. Eating 1000 calories and running 10 miles MAY help you quickly drop some weight.... but it is not healthy. It is not sustainable. It is not okay.
JUST CAUSE IT WORKS, DOES NOTTTTT MEAN IT IS WORKING!! Quick results are usually not sustainable results and anytime you are removing nutrients and health out of your life...you cannot expect to see the goals you truly want.
This episode is basically a call to action: extremes are usually not healthy. Making a full 180 overnight on your health is usually not healthy. We often need to take baby/medium steps before doing anything drastic. And I bet usually you'll find that those baby/medium steps, work. It's all you need to find balance between health and results.
Do what works for your longevity.
