Considering that all things are fulfilled in Christ, and gathered up in Him, as Ephesians 1 says, how then would we define Tabernacles? How was it fulfilled and how does it apply to us today? I sincerely believe this study will help you and I arrive to that understanding.
Looking back at the Feast of Tabernacles as it applied to the natural Israel, I want to bring to our attention that at this time the Israelites were gathering fruit up from the fields:
Lev 23:38 "besides the sabbath of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your free-will offerings which you give to Jehovah. 39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep a feast to Jehovah seven days. On the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. 40 And you shall take the fruit of majestic trees for yourselves on the first day, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the valley. And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God seven days. 41 And you shall keep it a feast to Jehovah seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall keep it in the seventh month."
In John 15:16 as Jesus was speaking of his relationship of the Vine and the branches, he makes a statement, "Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you." Here in relationship to the vine, we are to bear His fruit, and His fruit is to be gathered up and remain.
That of Christ that we have received, which has been revealed in us is to remain in us. This is I believe Tabernacles. When that we of Him is remaining, abiding in us, we are enjoying The Feast of Tabernacles. May all of Him be gathered up into us! Glory to God!
