In a stunning move, less than 6 months since The Matrix Reloaded blew audiences away, the third and "final" installment hit theaters to great fanfare. In those short months between Reloaded and Revolutions, fans got a video game tie-in that deeply connected with the films plus a feature-length collection of shorts known as The Animatrix. Needless to say, audiences received an overload of the Wachowski's once glorious sci-fi vision. Unfortunately, the film would go on to be a major box-office disappointment along with being critically panned. Why did the "epic" conclusion fail?
