Philosophy Radio! drlabasham777's Podcast
Society & Culture:Philosophy
Hi friends,
Unfortunately, this semester begins with a slight delay. Approximately one week, perhaps longer. I regret this delay, but it has been made with the best intentions. In our correspondence, please use the following email address: drlabasham77@gmail.com. For the first week, we will rely on our podcast: Philosophy Radio with Dr Lee Basham. Our podcast can be found at drlabasham777.podbean.com. This allows you flexibility for this brief time. You can listen when you have the time, including the previously scheduled class time. One which we will return to when we return in class, on campus. You're welcome to explore all of our many podcasts at Philosophy Radio. You will enjoy it. (Beware of The Rancher.)
Philosophy Radio’s podcast involves a vast number of philosophical topics that have great interest to all of us. Until then I cannot wait to meet you, to greet you and be with you in person. This is what I prefer.
So a quick rundown on the structure of all our Courses: I suspect many of you already know how this goes and that it works. We will have a Midterm and we will have a Final. Attendance is strongly encouraged. There will be occasional attendance quizzes. Most of what we do we will do in class. Our class text is Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Available at our campus book store and elsewhere. An interesting book.
Without in-class attendance you're going to be in trouble. The Midterm and Final will have full reviews prior to each. (It wouldn't make a lot of sense to have the reviews after the tests!) But without attendance, the reviews will not be something you can understand. I look very much to meeting you and getting to know you. These, all of these, are really fun and informative courses. Can’t wait to see you!
Best regards,
Dr. Lee Basham
