Theo Hayez var 18 ára strákur á bakpokaferðalagi um Ástralíu. Hann kemur til Byron Bay og ætlar að eyða síðustu fjóru dögunum sínum þar áður en hann heldur aftur heim til Belgíu. Þann 31. maí árið 2019 fer hann á Cheeky Monkeys næturklúbbinn en er að lokum hent út sökum ölvunar. Klukkan 23:07 setur hann inn Hostelið sitt í Google Maps og gengur svo af stað, en byrjar að ganga í kolvitlausa átt. Hann hefur ekki sést síðan og ótal margar spurningar sitja uppi í kjölfar hvarfsins hans.
