Today we have a panel discussion about food insecurity - an important topic during this pandemic and in a time where there exists such a growing income gap in our community.
Barbara Swartzentruber is the Executive Director of the Smart Cities Office at the City of Guelph. She is working on our circular food economy to develop a sustainable regional food system that increases access to healthy nutritious food for all, prevents food loss and waste, and creates circular businesses for a regenerative economy.
Kate Vsetula is a Co-Chair of the Seed Committee and Community Health Manager at the Guelph Community Health Centre. She shares some details about the latest report on food insecurity in our community and provides some highlights about The Seed.
Kay Miller is a chef at Guelph's Hope House where she is a front line worker witnessing the daily struggles that many have to get nutritious food.
