When you struggle with binge eating, you may wonder if food addiction is real? Why is highly processed food (aka “junk food”) so addictive, and am I addicted to food? In this episode of Bingeproof Brain Podcast, I want to share with you my opinion about food addiction and whether science on that matter is clear. Before we get into it, I just want to say that I have tremendous empathy for those of you struggling with the feeling of food addiction. I remember myself having powerful cravings for calorie-dense foods despite feeling full, binge-eating these foods, feeling food guilt after having these foods, and being unable to stop all of this despite knowing its unhealthy outcome.
