Dian Fossey rose to notoriety as an expert on the mountain gorillas of the Congo and Rwanda. She's arguably the main reason why populations of these magnificent animals are alive in the mountains today. However, her research turned more towards conservation in her efforts to stop poaching and tourism earning her a lengthly list of enemies.
Unfortunately, Dian was found murdered in her cabin in 1985. To this day, many people are still wondering who is actually responsible for Dian Fossey's murder.
