Protein is one of three macronutrients, alongside carbohydrates and fats, which make up our diet. Mainstream guidelines tend to focus on diet advice such as 'reduce fat intake' and 'eat wholegrain carbs with every meal' (which are both flawed ideas btw) but protein is often never spoken about.
Our bodies rely on it for muscle building and repair, hormone and enzyme production, healthy hair/skin/nails, aesthetics, immune system, the list goes on.
