On today’s episode, we’re excited to introduce the newest thru-hike on the scene– the Transcaucasian Trail. Joined by Meagan Neal, co-executive director of the Transcaucasian Trail Association, we discover the epic trek that stretches 1,800km through the Caucasus, which includes Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Unrivaled in its scenery, this route explores some of the most biologically, culturally, linguistically, and geographically diverse regions of the world, and we can’t wait to hike it!
Over the past six years, the Transcaucasian Trail has been stitched together by a passionate community, though there remains work to do. Sign up for a group hike and experience a section of this authentic thru-hike, or join the effort and volunteer to help with the massive project of building the trail! Want to be one of the first to trek this awesome route? Intrepid adventurers are being called upon to register to be a part of the first cohort of hikers to hike this awesome trail through the Caucasus!
