Unlock U with Dr. Shannan Crawford
Health & Fitness:Mental Health
“Well if he won’t do the dishes, then I won’t,” “If she won’t talk to me then I won’t talk to her.” These are examples of what might be said in a reciprocal love where you only give as much as the other in the relationship. Don’t be discouraged! This is a very common occurrence and can be remedied if we learn to switch from reciprocal to covenantal love in relationships. Dr. Ripley, the Hughes chair of Christian integration and co-director of the Charis Institute at Regent University, takes us through the process of what a “hope focused” relationship looks like.
Let’s learn to love above and beyond in service of one another, get vulnerable, and defend each others’ vulnerabilities!
