Health & Fitness:Mental Health
Although this season can seem to be quite jolly, dropping temperatures and reduced daylight hours has a dampening effect on all of us! We may dip into bouts of fatigue, feel down, and even feel helpless and hopeless at times. We want to encourage you that this season, although cold and a little darker, is a hopeFUL one! Dr. Shilagh Mirgain, a specialist in Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), joins us today to share practical tools to get ahead of the dip and remain connected with our loved ones! Dr. Mirgain is a Distinguished Psychologist specializing in Health and Sport Psychology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She writes, speaks and specializes in treatment on mind-body skills to foster optimal health and optimal performance.
A huge key to finding freedom this season is gratitude, and connectedness, so think of things that you can be grateful for today! Send a hand-written note to someone, perform a random act of kindness for a stranger, continue to spread joy and let your light shine!
