EU cash is tied up in Irish planes stuck in Russia, according to Colm Markey. The European Parliament is expected to discuss the issue this afternoon. The resolution, which will be put to the vote on Thursday condemns what it calls an intolerable “theft” and demands an immediate return of the aircraft. Fine Gael MEP, Colm Markey, sits on the transport committee in the European Parliament. He says EU bank money is involved. And he warns that Russia is setting a precedent which could undermine the viability of the aircraft leasing industry.
