Boundaries Journal Questions (for this episode)
Question 1. Do I often say “yes” when I mean “no”? If I do, why do I do it? What am I afraid of? What do I think will happen if I say no?
(This question is meant to give you a hint as to where you’re getting stuck in the boundary making process. What your fears are that you may be able to address and resolve.
Question 2. Are there people in my life that I don’t feel like I can be honest with? Are there people who I don’t feel safe telling them how I feel?
(the answer to this question might give you some ideas to who you don’t have good boundaries with)
Question 3: I want to stop doing __________ (behavior) but I feel like I can’t because _____________ (person/situation fear)
Example 1: I want to stop to the club and drinking every Friday, but I feel like I can’t because Rachel probably won’t be my friend anymore.
Example 2: I want to stop working at 5pm but my boss keeps asking me to do more and more and I feel like I can’t say no because I’ll get fired.
(This question is meant to help us understand what behaviors we might be doing that we want to change or outgrow but can’t because of weak boundaries.)
