Matthew 11:28–30

One of the greatest passages in all of Scripture is Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28–30. In the midst of rejection Jesus invites all who are weary and heavy laden to come to him. The King gives the people another chance to come. This is an invitation to recognize him as the Messiah, to repent, to be saved, and to enter into a relationship with Jesus such that Jesus will reveal the Father to those who come. We will examine this text and ask, “Who may come?” “What does it mean to come?” and “Why should we come?”
