Apparently Lionsgate/Twisted Pictures saw fit to squeeze a little more juice out of this franchise, and "Spiral: From The Book of Saw" (2021) is the ninth film to assault the unsuspecting public (and yes, you read that right, it is the NINTH film in this neverending series!!!). Who would have thought the first film started out as a low-budget wonder from a then-unknown James Wan - with an on-screen title that actually lives up to its promise! - and would begat an entire franchise? The mind boggles! And speaking of mind-boggling, Timothy Kazda and Chris Koenig have taken it upon themselves to check out the new entry. So does this follow-up break up its tried-and-true formula to do something else for a change...or is it the same old, same old story? Does Chris Rock prove he has the acting chops to tackle a horror movie worthy of his presence? And does this movie really have a "book" in it?
