In the early 90's Andrew Dice Clay was an unstoppable force doing record breaking sold out shows across the country performing stand-up. He was the first comedian to sell out two consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden. At the time it seemed as if no other comedian could ever reach the heights that Dice hit. But by the mid 90's Andrew Dice Clay was starting to feel like Diceman character had "sort of gone out of hand" and wanted to use that as an opportunity to pursue more opportunities outside of stand-up. This lead to him signing a development deal with CBS that would eventually lead to his first staring roll in a sitcom called "Bless This House".
Bless This House, which had him billed simply as "Andrew Clay" still allowed him to be somewhat edgy but with a more toned down approach, showing him as a working man with a wife and kids. The show was met with mixed reviews and often noted it as a modern day "Honeymooners". Sadly the show never made it out of the first season. Did Bless This House get a fair run or did it have the legs to make it past its 16 episode run? Listen as the S1E1 boys take a deep dive into its pilot episode.
