Dr.Vuppala Lakshamana Rao is a multi faceted, eminent telugu personality. Though he had Ph.D degree in Botony, his life has so many twists and turns. He worked as a research scientist with Sir Jagadishchandra Bose, worked as college lecturer, active participant in Indian Freedom Struggle, lead Sales Division of Andhra Cement company and then worked as a translator in Moscow. He translated more then 40 Russian Books into Telugu. Only one novel written by him 'Athadu - Aame' is considered as a highly standard work in Telugu Literature. His autobiography 'Batuku Pustakam' is another master piece. His wife Melly Scholinger's life is another amazing journey. Though she was born in Switzerland , she lived in India for 2 decades and actively participated in India Freedom struggle.
