Episode #291: The Woman King

Hump day is here and you know what that means, a brand new podcast for your ear holes! Today Mike and Matt chat about The Woman King starring Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, and Lashana Lynch. Additional topics today include a new movie giveaway, PSL beer, and the 5th Annual Harvest Horror Fest starts next week!

There is a ton of controversy surrounding this film. Your hosts touch on it a bit during the podcast but not a lot. We are here to talk about the movie itself, have fun, and joke around a bit. The Woman King is a great film. There are a lot of inaccuracies but it is a film not a documentary. The filmmakers chose to take liberties with their story and it is a very good story. The Woman King is almost the complete package. Great acting, amazing sets, incredible costumes, and a wonderful story. It is honestly difficult to make a better film. Mike and Matt both agree this is a must see film especially if you can make it to the theaters. They both award The Woman King 4 out of 5 Reels.

Next week is the start of our 5th annual Harvest Horror Fest! Mike’s favorite time of year because he gets to pick all of the movies! Our first review will be the 1982 classic Poltergeist in honor of its 40th anniversary.
