The 97ᵗʰ season of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra has begun with a long-awaited event: the appointment of Tarmo Peltokoski, 22-year-old Finnish talent, conductor, pianist, and Wagner enthusiast, as the Music and Artistic Director of the orchestra. Listeners can get a glimpse of the LNSO's future in Episode 33 of the orchestra's podcast, where Tarmo is interviewed by its host – musician and composer Edgars Cīrulis. The conversation deals with the YouTube generation and the role of Richard Wagner's opera Tristan und Isolde in the young conductor's life.
