100NO 44: Ikaria’s longevity secrets with Thea Parikos

When Ikaria was being officially discovered as a “Blue Zone” and outlier for longevity, the National Geographic team set themselves up at Thea’s Inn – the Trip Advisor #1 Greek B&B on the island of Ikaria. Thea Parikos was born and raised in the States by her Ikarian parents and on marrying her Ikarian husband Ilias decided to move to Ikaria. Now she has two boys, runs Thea’s Inn and Thea’s Restaurant, providing the town and the small tourist population the amazing food Ikaria is renowned for. Thea will be hosting us in Ikaria for our Longevity Retreat and we wanted to find out from her on what we can expect to find on this idyllic island.
