173 \\ Togather Armor:1 Forgotten Daily Habit To Raise Families Strong in the Virtue of GRATITUDE and Help Train Our Children in the Faith

Teaching our children about the beauty of GRATITUDE also teaches them about the ugliness of ingratitude. But are we using a simple habit to keep this a focus of our family foundation? I know it's difficult to raise our children with this virtue when we are in a culture of increasing narcissism, selfishness, and immediate gratification. Today's episode includes a reflection from one of my favorite daily devotions: The Better Part by Fr. John Bartunek. In it, he shares Luke 17:11-19, the story of Jesus curing the 10 lepers. Only one comes back to say, "thank you". Fr. Bartunek writes: "Not to live with an attitude of gratitude towards God is more than being impolite - ingratitude is ugly because it's positively unjust. Gratitude on the other hand, is one of the most beautiful flowers in the whole garden of virtue...what a pity that it is as rare as it is lovely."
