About today's speaker:  The Rev'd Maria Gwyn McDowell is the Rector of St. Philip the Deacon Episcopal Church where she is working with non-profit organizations to implement the long-standing hope of the parish: affordable housing for the black descendents of parish members and neighbors displaced by the City of Portland. She is a student and teacher of liberative ethics, a public theologian, a contributor and editor at Women in Theology, and occasionally posts at her personal blog, DeiProfundis.
