As we look ahead to the coming year, Jamie reflects upon the story of Bartimaeus, identifying parallels with our specific vision as a church. Our culture differs radically from classical antiquity; Central to this is the notion, rooted in the Cross, that in suffering and frailty there is a potency and power capable of transforming our lives and even the whole of Creation.
