—Here are 3 big things you need to know—

 

One — President Biden is huddling with top advisors ahead of Tuesday's State of the Union Address.  Biden flew to Camp David on Saturday where he's expected to discuss efforts to raise the debt ceiling, Russia's war in Ukraine and the 2024 presidential race among other issues.  Relations with China are also likely to be on the agenda.

 

Two—   Democrats are making changes to the 2024 presidential primary calendar.  During a party gathering in Philadelphia on Saturday, DNC delegates approved moving South Carolina into the top spot for early voting, followed by Nevada and New Hampshire.  Georgia and Michigan also joined the primary window for the first time.

 

And number three— The death toll in Turkey and Syria is on the rise following a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake.  Over 1000 deaths are now being reported after the quake that was centered in south central Turkey and felt as far away as Lebanon and Israel.  Multiple aftershocks have been reported in the wake of what the USGS says was one of the region's strongest earthquakes in over 100 years.
