Krishna studied the scriptures and was trained as a warrior. The Gopis (cowherd maidens) were filled with devotion to him. Krishna inquired about his cousins, the Pandavas. Their King wanted his sons, the Kauravas, to inherit the throne. However, the throne belonged to the Pandavas, the sons of Pandu, Dhritarashtra’s brother. Thus the Mahabharata, the story of the great war, begins. Meanwhile, the father of Kamsa’s wife decided to kill Krishna.
