GUEST OVERVIEW: Robert Cherry has just completed a social policy book, Moving Working Families Forward: Third Way Policies That Work (NYU Press). It covers a number of areas, including low-income housing, race and gender earnings disparities, immigration, community college training, tax reforms and strengthening domestic relations. Cherry is beginning a new project that will assess the large share of black and Latino students who obtain four-year degrees from less competitive colleges in the private sector.
