Ending Emotional Eating

Paula shares her story of using food to soothe herself since childhood, which led to chronic health issues and dissatisfaction with her life as a mother and elementary school teacher. Her friend suggested she join a Healers Program, where she began her journey of self-discovery and growth. Through this program, she learned to break patterns of emotional eating by looking at her past experiences that were emotionally bogging her down.

 

Later in the podcast, the speakers talk about how people are conditioned to associate food with reward and offer alternative ways to soothe oneself that do not involve food. They also emphasize the importance of learning how to lean into difficult emotions and speaking one's truth, especially for women who may struggle to express their feelings due to societal expectations.

 

The podcast also delves into the scientific explanation behind the feeling of love in the heart, which is caused by the energy field around the heart that interacts with the energy fields of other people. The hosts discuss how people are becoming more open-minded about mental, physical, and spiritual well-being, and emphasize the importance of experiencing something before truly understanding it. They also discuss the impact of sugar on the body and how gradually reducing it over a period of six to eight months helped one of the hosts overcome negative mind chatter.

 

In the final part of the podcast, the guest and host discuss the importance of discipline and awareness when it comes to self-care. Paula shares how she transitioned from focusing on gut health to helping women with their emotional well-being and emphasizes the need to prioritize one's own self-care.
