The Bible is hard to understand and apply to our world today. And face it, it has been used to control and hurt. But that's not the only kind of danger it poses. If we recognize its distance from us in time, language, and culture and approach it with humility, wonder, and openness, it can rock our status quo and usher in healing and growth that can only come from the 3-stranded place it embodies.
