Launched in 2012, CivicLab is a unique nonprofit institute, founded to leverage the lessons of community collaboration learned and fine-tuned over many decades in Columbus, Indiana. Led by J. Irwin Miller Cummins CEO, arts patron, industrialist and civil rights activist, the Columbus community became a leader in creating unique public-private partnerships and CivicLab seeks to spread the model to other communities, using what has become internationally known as ‘The Columbus Way.’
