E16: Birth Stories: From a HOSPITAL BIRTH to a HOMEBIRTH, Interview with Giana Vasconcellos

Welcome back to the Simplify birth and Motherhood Podcast. Today, I will be sitting down the Giana Vasconcellos as she shares her birth stories. Giana since her firstborn always wanted a homebirth but decided to have a hospital birth that resulted in a satisfying experience, but as COVID hit and an instant connect with a midwife, she made the informed choice to have a homebirth.  Giana is sharing why she decided to change birth environments with her second pregnancy and birth, how her choice set her up for postpartum, and what she has learned through the birth process that she wishes she would have known before.   

 

Giana has her master's in public health with an emphasis in maternal child health. She uses her background for research and within the last couple of years has leveraged her research into childbirth education, doula, and now a student midwife. Her goal is to serve communities by equipping them with easily accessible quality information to help them thrive in their maternal care journey.
