Skin is the largest organ of our body and it is also the organ in which most diseases originate. There are three layers of the skin – epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. While the epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin, the hypodermis is the innermost layer. The skin acts as the natural defense layer of our body and also regulates the temperature inside our body. It produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight.
