Lawmakers voted 314-117 on the 99-page measure Wednesday as the deadline to avoid a potential default is just days away. It still needs to pass in the Democratic-controlled Senate before heading to President Biden's desk.
Two— Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan says the city's unemployment rate has dropped to its lowest level in history. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in April, which was down from 5.8 percent in March. Duggan says this is the lowest rate recorded since monthly unemployment began tracking in 1990.
