Documentary filmmaker and former cult member Will Allen compiled hours of footage from his time in the Buddhafield cult to make the documentary "Holy Hell" about his 22 years under the control of a guru named Michel/Andreas who systematically brainwashed, controlled and abused members until most of them left, Part of the cult still survives today in Hawaii. "Holy Hell" is currently available to view on Tubi.
