According to the Gun Violence Archive, more than 17,000 people have died so far this year in the U.S. from guns, including more than 100 children under the age of 12. June is Gun Violence Awareness Month, which was created to draw attention to this tragic reality and to help fuel demand life-saving change. Andrea Welsing, Director of the Office of Violence Prevention in the LA County Department of Public Health, joins the podcast to share about gun violence in LA County and how people can get involved to become part of the solution.
